Little Fish

She started swimming lessons a few weeks ago and loves it! There's an indoor swimming pool nearby (at the strip mall of all places) that gives lessons year round. At this age, she's just learning to be comfortable in the water, play some games, quick submersion, and back floats.

19 Months

She only says a few words right now but she certainly communicates. She babbles in a way that sounds like she is talking complete sentences (in her own secret language of course), it is so stinkin cute! She signs "more" and "please" and "thank you". The little bit of sign language certainly helps with frustrations on both our parts. She can tell you the sound that each animal makes (cow, dog, cat, sheep, horse, lion, monkey). She points, nods and shakes her head when she wants more, and will grab and tug on her diaper when she needs a diaper change. I have learned to read her body language and other subtle (and not so subtle) cues to interpret her needs and wants, or I simply anticipate them. She gives kisses and hugs more readily. Two weeks ago she moved from the 12-18 month class at daycare to the 18-24 month class, and the transition has been okay.  She was very bonded with her teachers in her last class. Also when she started in the new class she had a cold, and she's teething so that didn't help matters. She's a little sensitive sometimes after a leave but I think we've turned a corner, she's doing well in her new classroom and bonding with her new teachers.
