It's been a busy couple weeks. I had a great Thanksgiving visiting my brother & his fiance. I had a lot of time traveling to & from to think about adoption. One of the items on the Application/homestudy is to provide 4 References that are not relatives. I thought about who I would ask to be a Reference and it really made me think about my group of friends, although small, I really am so fortunate, and I am going to work much harder this upcoming year to be a good friend.
In other news, I have one more week to make a final decision on the final amount I want to put down on the house. In order to make that decision, I have stepped up my researching of agencies. Krygystan is my first choice country. I have received info packets from 3 different agencies and I'm now running the numbers ($) this weekend to get an average.

TGIF
Finally! The seller came back with a counter for the inspection items, and I accepted! And mortgage guy already had someone out at the house to do the appraisal. Things are moving along.

Mortgage Pondering
This morning I spoke to mortgage guy and we talked about whether I was going to put 5% or 10% downpayment on the house I'm buying. He's of course telling me 10% but he doesn't know I'm planning to use the remainder to adopt. Either way, whether I put down 5% or 10%, I can afford the adoption. I'm just concerned in addition to the adoption fees, I'd really like to take the full 12 weeks of maternity leave, and I really don't know how much I'm going to need for childcare expenses after that. This is a lot to consider.

Lamps for the Nursery
So, I was in a furniture store today window shopping for a sectional sofa for the new house when we came across the cutest pair of lamps for the nursery. They were 50% off so I had to have them. I've got it bad!

Home Inspection Complete
So I had the home inspection for the house and it went well all things considered, no major expensive items. Now I have to negotiate with the seller on the fixes of the inspection items that I have chosen -- assuming of course that they will negotiate. This was only the 2nd time I had been in the house and my realtor asked me if I still love it --- and I do! Hmmm, I will have to decide before I move which of the other 2 bedrooms to choose from for the nursery...
