Easter 2013

With my parents gone and my extended family scattered, major holidays are not the same as when I was a kid. Growing up it was always a religious holiday but since I am not really a part of that religion anymore I'm not sure how to celebrate it. With that said, I got up and went to church with my grandma because it makes her happy. It was so nice to just spend 1-on-1 time with grandma. My daughter is too young to sit through the long mass so she stayed home with the au pair who doesn't go to church.

I hid some plastic eggs around the house.
It was so much fun to see her running around searching for eggs!

Okay mommy, I'll wear the ears for 5 seconds and then that's it
And the ears are off
Getting tired of the egg hoopla
I'm just gonna close my eyes for just a sec
We had dinner with grandma at my house,
so she got to wear a pretty dress.
Got the ears on for 5 more seconds
Let's just play with the bunny ears instead
 Posing for the camera
Let me tell you mommy what I think of these bunny ears
 Let's get crazy

It's a lamb pillow that she promptly named BaaBaa

Bloodsucker

I just finished my month-long phlebotomy (drawing blood) clinical externship at the local hospital. I'm very proud of myself & glad it is finished! Next I have to take the national certification exam and either start looking for a job or continue on with my studies...

20 Months

OMG she is 20 months old. She will be two in just four months! That is crazy! She is a lot of fun right now, and even though she doesn't say much, she is hilarious! She is super creative in how she tries to communicate without words, and it cracks me up. Her facial expressions and body language are amazing. Right now her favorite things include animals or as she calls them "am-i-nals", anything Mommy is trying to quietly look at, eat or watch :) reading books, dancing (even if there is no music on), and brushing her teeth. Her Dislikes include having her diaper changed, the sound of a vacuum cleaner, and when Mommy washes her face after a messy meal. She knows lots of her body parts: eyes, ears, nose, teeth, mouth, hair, cheeks, hands, belly-button, belly, knees, feet, toes. She is such a good little girl. I love to see her eyes light up and say, "Woooooo" when she sees something she likes. I love how she enjoys reading books and looking at every single detail on the page. I love how she looks and acts so much like my Mom, and every day I look at her and feel so blessed.

Little Fish

She started swimming lessons a few weeks ago and loves it! There's an indoor swimming pool nearby (at the strip mall of all places) that gives lessons year round. At this age, she's just learning to be comfortable in the water, play some games, quick submersion, and back floats.
